The day after I graduated high school, I packed my bags and moved to St.John, USVI—without ever having stepped foot there before. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. That little island shaped me in ways I’ll forever carry, and to this day it feels like a home away from home. 🏝️
This painting is inspired by the gentle souls of St. John—the donkeys who wander freely, unhurried and graceful. To me they embody the island’s spirit: resilient, peaceful, and a reminder to slow down and savor life’s quiet beauty. ☀️
